THE ADULT PROGRAM AT FRESH POND BALLET SCHOOL
Monday evenings at 7:45 to 9:00 we offer a class
suitable for beginning adults as well dancers with some experience.
The class includes a full barre, floor stretch to strengthen the core, and
center practice. We do basic adagio, introduce pirouettes, jumps
and across the floor to give dancers a chance to experience patterns
of ballet movement.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 6:15 and Saturday
at 2:45 we teach upper level dancers, including teens and adults. The
combinations include more challenging enchainments, and these
dancers are in our annual performance usually.
POINTE ONE, FRIDAY at 5:00: Beginning pointe with permission only as dancers
must be technically strong enough for this class. Youth dancers
in level 4 are considered for this class when ready, no younger
than age eleven.
POINTE TWO, FRIDAY at 6:15: Upper level pointe, only with permission
of the director and adequate training and technical level.
OUR TEN CLASS CARD IS: $135.00
SINGLE CLASS IS: $18.00
ADULT DANCERS: solid color leotards and tights or stretch pants and t-shirts, pink slippers. Men wear heavyweight black men's tights, black slippers, and a white t-shirt.
Adults should bring their own yoga mat or thick towel for floor stretch.
Our studio is built on rubber cushions and surfaced with a marley dance
vinyl for optimum traction, safety and ease of movement, providing a surface
free of splinters and a subfloor that is springy, making landings easier and
reducing stress on the body.
